Organizing is a skill. You don’t automatically know how to clean, cook, wash laundry, or perform other skill-based tasks. You have to learn it. Sometimes we learn it from our parents or a mentor. Sometimes we learn it from reading or watching videos. Regardless, having someone to show us how to get started and even think outside of the box, can give us a new skill or even give us more information on something.
Even as a professional organizer, I am constantly reading and watching videos in order to learn from others, not to mention taking training courses a couple of times a year. So, I am learning new skills all the time too.
My main goals in helping you is:
1. To help you work through the overwhelm and shame that often comes with clutter. It is NOTHING to be ashamed of. Everyone has something in their life they can organize better, and oftentimes when we go through an especially busy time, things can pile up.
2. To help you use items you already have as much as possible. This means using items you currently have creatively, before investing in new items. Thus, saving you money.
3. To help you rethink how your home works and what functionality will make your home flow better for everyone in it.
4. To help you pare down and get things in order so they can relax and enjoy their day-to-day life without the overwhelm of clutter.
Sometimes clutter gathers over time as we get busy and other things take a precedent over getting things in order. Sometimes, we just need a little more knowledge. My goal is to give you more knowledge, and be the person to come along side you, to encourage you, and give you ideas and encouragement to get things in order.
