Top 10 Kitchen Organization Ideas

The more efficient we can be in the kitchen, the more time we have with family and friends. So whether you are getting ready to have extra people over or looking for solutions for day-to-day life, here are some of my favorite kitchen organizational tools, many I use in my kitchen daily.

  1. A good place to start with organization in any room is to use your vertical space. This organizer for mops, brooms and more is a great way to do that and still make them easily accessible. https://amzn.to/3U8nllM
  2. Airtight food storage containers have been a game changer in our home. We buy in bulk and put the items in these containers. They make the food and baking ingredients last longer, plus it is easier to use all the space on shelves because they are squared off. These are my favorite type: https://amzn.to/48FkpS0
  3. Bins can help to square off food in the pantry and refrigerator as well. Things like applesauce or yogurt packets, or protein bars can be more easily kept in place and less likely to spill behind other items and be forgotten. https://amzn.to/3Syk26t
  4. Do you prefer to store things like pasta, beans, and cereal on your countertop or an open shelf? Then a glass container that is airtight is a better option. They look a little nicer and are less likely to have issues with changes in weather, light, etc. https://amzn.to/48AOfaz
  5. Being able to keep things cool on-the-go, whether it is a meal, snacks, or even medication, requires some sort of thermal. Here are some options of various sizes to help you to enjoy food when you are out and about. https://bit.ly/3FjQtz5
  6. A simple lazy susan can make a corner cabinet or shelf more functional, especially for more “vertically challenged” people like me. Put one in the back corner of the cabinet and it makes it easier to access the items in the back. https://amzn.to/48TshzL
  7. Wire baskets are a great way to store things like potatoes, onions, and apples. If you have open shelves or other surfaces, these work really well. https://amzn.to/40F5zrM
  8. A silverware organizer is a great way to keep silverware, a junk drawer, or kitchen utensils in order. I prefer an adjustable one, because then you can make it fit your drawer perfectly, and if your needs change, you can adjust. Make sure you measure the depth of your drawer and doublecheck it with the organizer you are looking at. https://amzn.to/3vI9HvH
  9. Having shelf-stable food has become more and more important over the last several years, but that means we need to store it. Having the ability to stack them and still find what we need is important so things don’t go bad before we use them. A stackable can rack like this helps me keep mine simple to find and makes it easy for me to put the oldest in the front and the newest in the back. https://amzn.to/4288slE
  10. Food storage containers are a must for leftovers and it is SO easy for those to get disorganized. Sometimes I think the lids disappear and the containers multiply. 😄 Having a system can help keep them in order though, and this expandable organizer is a great option! https://amzn.to/3vIa5dD
